Call Forwarding for Android

Some may ask why I would write on this topic as all phone carriers provide this feature. It does not matter what type of phone you have, each carrier has a specific way of forwarding calls to a number of your choosing. Each time you want to forward, depending on your carrier, you would have to go into your call settings and manually add the number you want to forward to. What if I told you that there is an app on the android market that will store up to five phone numbers that you can forward your calls to with a push of a button? Simple Call Forwarding is an app that can do all of this. It is easy to set up and even easier to use.

So what happens if you have left your phone at home and are expecting an important call? Well

with an app named Forgot Your Phone, you can send your phone a text message with the number that you want to forward your calls to, like your office phone, and a PIN code. The PIN code is for security reasons. The app will also allow you to remotely forward your text messages as well. Best of all this is a free app on the Android Market.

I must warn you that you must have call forwarding abilities through your carrier as these apps will not go outside the limitations of your plan. There are many apps on the Android Market that will allow you to forward your calls and your test messages to other phones, even if they are on different carriers. You will need to decide which the best solution to your issue is. From what I have seen, my preferences are the ones I have listed above, both for price and ease of use. But I understand that everyone has their own preferences, so I would suggest that you take the time to find what is right for you.

I do know that these sure beat having to press digits, then a 10 digit phone number, to forward your phone. This can happen in one click if you are with the phone, or you can do it remotely. This way you never miss that important call again.
